Government House is the home of the Governor of South Australia.

It is situated on the north eastern corner of North Terrace and King William Road in the city of Adelaide.

How to address the Governor:

The correct form of address for the Governor is:

His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR
Governor of South Australia

Letters should commence with: "Your Excellency,".

When speaking to the Governor in person, the words "Your Excellency" are used.

Congratulatory Messages

Information about Congratulatory Messages

Nominations for congratulatory messages may be made by any individual.

A minimum of eight (8) weeks notice is required prior to the Birthday or Wedding Anniversary.

The nomination form must be accompanied by a photocopy of the appropriate Birth or Marriage Certificate. (Originals are not required).

Recipient must be residents of South Australia.

The Protocol Unit will arrange for the appropriate messages according to the following:

* Please note that Her Majesty does not send messages for 50th Wedding Anniversaries or messages to persons who are not citizens of a Commonwealth country.
