Governors Multicultural Awards Neela and Her Excellency

The Governor’s Multicultural Awards recognise and celebrate South Australians who promote multiculturalism and increase the understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity in our community.

The awards are administered by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet through Multicultural Affairs and are presented by the Governor on the advice of an independent judging panel.

Ceremonial

The Governor’s Civics Awards for Schools provide the opportunity for young South Australians to develop their understanding of the role citizenship plays in a multicultural and democratic society.

The awards aim to highlight the importance of civics education in the South Australian historical context and be a conduit for quality student engagement and learning in these areas.

Students from Year 5 to 12 can enter the awards, which include Individual, Group and School categories.

Awardees are invited to a reception at Government House to receive their awards.

The awards are delivered through a partnership with the Department for Education and the Office of the Governor, and judged by an independent reference group.
