Government House, Adelaide is the official residence and Office of Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.

The Vice Regal residence is not only the oldest public building in South Australia, but it is also the oldest Government House in Australia.

Exhibits at Government House

Government House, in collaboration with the South Australian Museum, presents a collection of ancient fossils and minerals, the coffin plate of Matthew Flinders from the History Trust of South Australia, and a fossil of the prehistoric bird Genyornis newtoni from Flinders University, celebrating South Australia’s rich mineralogical, paleontological, and historical heritage.
