Over winter, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, opened the doors of Government House for a series of thought-provoking conversations with inspirational South Australians.
In the Winter Conversation Series, held on the first Friday of June, July and August, the Governor engaged in conversation with Hon Dr Kay Patterson AO, former Age Discrimination Commissioner; Anne Burgess AM, Chair of the Aged Care Council of the Elders; Professor Alex Brown, Professor of Indigenous Genomics with the Telethon Institute and the Australian National University; Professor Deborah White, Theme Leader Precision Cancer Medicine with SAHMRI; Tim Jarvis AM, 2024 SA Australian of the Year; and Tiahni Adamson, 2024 SA Young Australian of the Year.
Friday, June 7: 'Ageing Well'
Her Excellency explored the opportunities and challenges of ageing with Hon Dr Kay Patterson AO, former Age Discrimination Commissioner, and Anne Burgess AM, Chair of the Aged Care Council of the Elders.
Friday, July 5: 'Healthcare of the Future – Genomics and Precision Medicine'
Her Excellency discussed the future of healthcare with Professor Alex Brown, Professor of Indigenous Genomics with the Telethon Institute and the Australian National University, and Professor Deborah White, Theme Leader Precision Cancer Medicine with SAHMRI.
Friday, August 2: 'Environmental Leadership'
Her Excellency joined Tim Jarvis AM, 2024 SA Australian of the Year, and Tiahni Adamson, 2024 SA Young South Australian of the Year, to discuss environmental advocacy and South Australia's efforts in addressing climate change.
