Winter Conversation Series

Giving a wide range of South Australians the opportunity to visit Government House is a key priority for Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.

The Lunch on the Lawns initiative, which has opened up the grounds of Government House to the public on the first Friday of each month in summer and autumn 2022/23, has proved very popular.

To continue this momentum over winter, the Governor is hosting a ‘Winter Conversation Series’, open to the public.

On the fourth Friday of June, July and August, Her Excellency will engage notable South Australians in conversation on topics pertinent to the success of South Australia and the wellbeing of all South Australians.

The first session will focus on the Order of Australia will be held on Friday, 23 June, and will feature Order of Australia recipients academic Marnie Hughes-Warrington AO and Tokyo Paralympic gold medallist Darren Hicks OAM.

The second session - Mental Health and body image - will be held on Friday, 28 July, and will feature Breakthrough Mental Health Foundation Chief Executive Officer John Mannion, and 2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt.

The third session - Women's Advancement - will be held on Friday, 25 August, with more information, including speakers, to be released in coming weeks.

Sessions will run from 12:30pm to 1:30pm and bookings for the June session can be made online.
