On Thursday morning at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor received Ms Swati Dave, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Export Finance Australia, followed by breakfast.
Afterwards the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Later the Governor received Mr Jon Whelan, Chief Executive Officer, Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
Also in the morning, Mr Bunten, as patron of The Veteran Car Club of South Australia, received Mr Julian McNeil, Chairperson, and Mr Peter Templer, Secretary.
In the late morning at the University of South Australia, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited “MOD”, a futuristic museum inspiring young adults about science and technology, and viewed the Invisibility exhibition.
In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Mrs Vicky Welgraven AM, Principal Aboriginal Workforce Consultant.
Later at the Adelaide Town Hall, the Governor and Mr Bunten met with The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of Adelaide Ms Sandy Verschoor and Mr Gregg Mitchell, and elected members of the City of Adelaide, followed in the evening by a Civic Reception where the Governor addressed the guests and unveiled the official portrait of Dame Roma Mitchell AC DBE CVO QC.
Afterwards the Governor and Mr Bunten attended the 23rd Annual Hawke Lecture organised by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, University of South Australia, of which the Governor is patron-in-chief.
During the day the Governor was interviewed, individually, by Ms Caroline Winter, ABC Radio Adelaide; Ms Jade Robran, 5AA; and Ms Amelia Mulchy, Channel 7.
In the evening the façade of Government House was illuminated in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The illumination will continue until 8 June 2022, with the front lawn area of the House being open to the public until 5 June 2022. The House itself will be open to the public on 5 June 2022 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
