On Thursday morning, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Her Excellency the Governor officially opened the 2024 Adelaide White Ribbon Breakfast.
Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Also in the morning, at the University of Adelaide, Mr Bunten attended SciStarter Australia’s Citizen Science Workshop.
Later, at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Governor addressed the gathering at the inaugural Arts Leadership Symposium, presented by Flinders University in collaboration with the Adelaide Festival Centre.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor hosted a luncheon for Mr Conrad Tribble, Consul-General of the United States in Melbourne. Guests were Mr Tribble; Mr Jacob Goldschlager, Senior Political and Economic Advisor, Ms Alisa Modica, Political and Economic Officer, and Ms Gabrielle Connellan, Public Engagement Director, US Consulate Melbourne.
Also in the afternoon, at Rostrevor, Mr Bunten cut the cake at the Inner Wheel District A70 Centenary Celebration. The Governor is patron of Inner Wheel District A70.
Later, at Government House, the Governor received the Honourable Kyam Maher MLC, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs.
Afterwards, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor officially launched the Women’s and Children’s Health Network 2023 Research Impact report.
Later, at the Torrens Parade Ground, the Governor officially launched the book ‘Her Great Adventure: Dorothy ‘Puss’ Campbell, WW2 Army Sister’ by Dr Janet Scarfe.
In the evening, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, addressed the guests and presented awards at the 2025 Australian of the Year Awards Presentation for South Australia. The Governor is Chief Patron of the Australia Day Council of South Australia.
During the day, children from Margaret Lohmeyer Kindergarten held a picnic in the grounds.
