On Tuesday Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten continued their Vice Regal visit to the Barossa Valley, where in the morning they visited Angaston Recreation Park and Barossa Adventure Station.
Afterwards at the Barossa Bushgarden, Nuriootpa, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, unveiled a plaque and planted a tree for the Queen’s Jubilee.
In the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunted attended a lunch hosted by The Barossa Council at Artisans of Barossa, Tanunda, and afterwards, at the Barossa Bushgarden, they met with members of Reconciliation Barossa and students from Nuriootpa High School in celebration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, before returning to Adelaide.
Later in the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Lieutenant General Simon Stuart AO, DSC, Chief of Army, and Captain Morgan Greenlees, Aide-de-Camp to Chief of Army, Australian Army - HQ 9th Brigade, and Mrs Catherine Edwardson, Director, Army Communications, Department of Defence.
In the evening the Governor received Mr Fergus Hanson, Australian Strategic Policy Institute.
Afterwards at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended the State Theatre Company of South Australia’s opening night performance of Chalkface.
During the morning at Government House, His Excellency Dr James Muecke AM, as Governor’s Deputy, hosted a reception for participants of the Ice Factor Program. Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons of the Ice Factor Foundation.
