On Friday morning, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia, and Mrs Darrilyn Dawson, departed Government House.

Also on Friday morning, in conjunction with the International Day of People with Disability, the grounds of Government House were opened to members of the public as part of the “Lunch on the Lawns” program, including a garden tour conducted by The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, of which Her Excellency the Governor and Mr.Bunten are joint patrons.

In the afternoon, in the grounds of Government House, the Governor and Mr Bunten, as joint patrons of StudyAdelaide, hosted a Christmas Garden Party to farewell international students.

During the day, students from St Pius X toured Government House, and children from Barker Kindergarten, whose scarecrow, one of the winners of the 2023 Royal Adelaide Show scarecrow competition, is on display in the Government House vegetable garden, held a Teddy Bears’ picnic in the grounds.
