On Friday morning at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor held a virtual meeting with Ms Clare McLaughlin, Mayor of the City of Whyalla, and Ms Bernadette Abraham, President, Enterprising Women Whyalla.

Afterwards the Governor received The Honourable David Speirs MP, Leader of the Opposition and Member for Black.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a luncheon to commemorate the centenary of the birth of The Hon Dr Basil Hetzel AC. Guests included Ms Catherine Hutchesson MP, representing the Minister for Health and Wellbeing; Ms Penny Pratt MP, Shadow Minister for Regional Health Services, Ageing, and Preventative Health and Wellbeing; Professor Nicola Spurrier PSM, Chief Public Health Officer; Professor Caroline McMillen AO, Chief Scientist; Professor Guy Maddern, Director of Research and Dr Matheesha Herath, Student, Surgical Science Research Group, Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research; Professor John Beltrame, Director of Research, Central Adelaide Local Health Network Board Member, The Hospital Research Foundation; Ms Tory Shepherd, Senior Reporter, The Guardian Adelaide; and Emeritus Professor Richard Ruffin AM, Former Colleague of the Hon Dr Basil Hetzel.

In the evening at Her Majesty’s Theatre, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended the Adelaide Festival Centre’s performance of SIX the Musical.
