On Friday morning, at Victoria Park, Her Excellency the Governor participated in the 2026 Walk a Mile in My Boots program organised by the Hutt Street Centre, of which the Governor is patron.

After, at the West Torrens War Memorial, the Governor laid a wreath at the 2026 Malaya and Borneo Veterans Day Service of Commemoration, hosted by the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association Australia, of which the Governor is patron.

In the afternoon, the Governor received Professor Simon Lucey, Director of the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, and Dr Brenton Cooper, Chief Executive and Co-founder, Fivecast, and, afterwards, with them, convened a Government House Winter Conversation on ‘The Future of AI in South Australia’.

Her Excellency the Governor has Dr Richard Harris SC OAM to be Governor’s Deputy from 2:45pm on Friday, 7 August to 1:20pm on Monday, 10 August.
