On Monday morning Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten departed for a Vice Regal visit to Whyalla and Port Augusta, where they met with Ms Clare McLaughlin, Mayor and Mr Justin Commons, Chief Executive, City of Whyalla, and were briefed on current projects in the Whyalla region.

Afterwards the Governor and Mr Bunten toured the new Whyalla Secondary College, followed by a function at Mint Café with UniSA management, senior staff and students.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunten, accompanied by Ms McLaughlin and Mr Commons, toured the Whyalla Airport and were briefed on the upgrade, new security and screening system.

Afterwards the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Port Bonython Jetty and were briefed on the Eyre Peninsula Hydrogen Hub in the Port Bonython Hydrogen Production Precinct, followed by a driving tour of Port Bonython and Point Lowley.

In the evening at the Alexander Motel Whyalla, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended a function hosted by the City of Whyalla Council.

Her Excellency the Governor has appointed Lieutenant Governor, Professor Brenda Wilson AM, to be Governor’s Deputy from 9:00 am on Monday 18 October until 5:00 pm on Tuesday 19 October 2021.
