On Saturday morning, in Quorn, Her Excellency the Governor addressed the guests and cut the ribbon for the Carriage 470 relaunch at the Railfest 2024 50th Anniversary of the Pichi Richi Railway.
Afterwards, the Governor boarded the Pichi Richi Explorer for Woolshed Flat, where she attended a morning tea with community members, before returning to Quorn, where she met with Dr Geoffrey Parker, Honorary Treasurer; and Mrs Vicki Parker, Volunteer Marketing Coordinator, Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society, followed by a luncheon with Dr and Mrs Parker.
Later, at the Quorn Railway Station, the Governor viewed the ‘Double-Header’ train arrival of Carriage 470 and the Afghan Express, before returning to Adelaide.
In the evening, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor and Mr Bunten, as joint patrons of Educators SA, attended the 2024 Educators Ball.
