On Thursday morning, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a morning tea to thank Ministers and Cabinet Staff.

Later, the Governor received Mrs Ashton Hurn MP, Leader of the Opposition.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a function to thank their Honorary Aides-de-Camp and their partners. Guests were Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke and Mrs Karen Fielke; Lieutenant Lauren Altschwager RAN, and Mr Richard Mehbrei; Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Barnes and Mr James Blandford;
Squadron Leader Naomi Oberscheidt; Flight Lieutenant Dave Russell and Mrs Linda Russell; Lieutenant Will Tuckerman RAN and Mrs Billie Tuckerman; and Major Kynan Lang and Sergeant Joanna Lang.

Afterwards, at the Naval, Military, and Air Force Club, the Governor and Mr Bunten were hosted at a farewell dinner by South Australian Senior Defence Force Representatives.

The grounds of Government House will be open to the public today (Friday, 2 October) from 11.30am until 2pm as part of the Lunch on the Lawns program, including a garden tour conducted by The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, of which the Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons, the planting of the Governor’s Rose ‘Southern Horizon’ at 11.45am, the planting of a commemorative tree on the front lawns at 12.45pm, and music provided by JazzSA Superband 1.
