On Thursday morning Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor received the Honorary Consul of the United Kingdom, Mr Ian Smith AM.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunten received The Honourable Chris Sumner AM, followed by a luncheon.

Later the Governor received Professor John Williams and Associate Professor Justin Chalker, Co-Secretaries, Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee for South Australia.

In the evening at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, addressed the guests and presented awards at a function hosted by the Australia Day Council of South Australia to announce the winners of the 4 categories involved in the Australian of the Year Awards program who will go on to represent South Australia for the national award.
