On Tuesday morning, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten undertook a visit to the Town of Gawler, where they met Mr Nathan Shanks, Mayor; Mr Chris Cowley, Chief Executive Officer; Mr David Barrett, Executive Manager – Community and Strategy; and Mr Andrew Goodsell, Executive Manager – Development and Compliance, Town of Gawler, who accompanied the Governor and Mr Bunten on a tour of the Community Gallery and Visitor Information Centre.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Pioneer Park, where they were briefed on the Heritage Wall, the War Memorial, and historical significance of the site.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Church Hill, where they met Mr Dan Harris, Chair, St George’s Restoration Project Steering Committee, who led them on a tour of the Church, before attending a morning tea.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Gawler Aquatic Centre, where they toured the facility and were briefed on operations and upgrades for surrounding parks and sporting precincts.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Gawler Sport and Community Centre, whey they toured the facility and were briefed on operations.

Afterwards, at the Gawler Civic Centre, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended a luncheon hosted by the Town of Gawler. Guests included Mr James Agness MP, Member for Light, Elected Members, Council Staff, and community members.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Cultural Heritage Centre, where they met Ms Jacinta Weiss, Coordinator, Cultural Heritage Centre, who led them on a tour the facility.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Walker Place, where they viewed the ‘Courageous Women’ Mosaic Mural, before returning to Government House.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mr Bunten received Professor Nicola Phillips, Vice-Chancellor and President, Adelaide University, and Mr Steve Jones, followed by a dinner.
