On Tuesday morning at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor received Ms Kathleen Lively, Consul-General of the United States of America, and Mr Jacob Goldschlarger, Political/Economic Advisor, Consulate-General of the United States of America, Melbourne.

Later the Governor departed for a Vice Regal visit to Burra, where, in the afternoon at the Burra War Memorial, she addressed the guests and placed a wreath at the Centenary Celebration for the Burra and Districts Fallen Soldiers Memorial organised by the Returned and Services League of Australia - Burra Sub-Branch.

Later at the Council office, the Governor met with Mr Samuel Mattey OAM, Mayor, and Mr David Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer, Regional Council of Goyder, who then accompanied her throughout her visit.

Afterwards the Governor viewed a history display at the Burra Town Hall, followed by visits to the Burra Mine Site, Brewery Cellars and Paxton Square Cottages.

In the evening the Governor toured the Burra Railway Station and was briefed on the current carriage project.

Later at the Town Hall, the Governor presented certificates of appreciation at a dinner hosted by the Returned and Services League of Australia - Burra Sub-Branch, before returning to Adelaide.

Her Excellency the Governor has appointed Dr James Muecke AM to be Governor's Deputy from 11:30 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday 29 March 2022.
