On Wednesday morning, at Olympic House, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten viewed the ‘MEGAfauna of the Great Southern Reef Special – Immersive Worlds’, part of Adelaide Fringe.
In the afternoon, the Governor hosted a luncheon for South Australian Friends of the Space and Defence Community. Guests were Mr Steve Georganas MP, Co-Chair, Parliamentary Friends of Space; Wing Commander Craig Keane CSC, Senior Defence Representative – Edinburgh, RAAF – SA; Mr Matt Opie, Chief Executive, Defence SA; Mr Darin Lovett, Chair, Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA); Mr Tim White, Executive Director - Trade and International, Department of State Development; Ms Natasha Stott-Despoja AO; Mr Jim Whalley AO, Chair and Co-Founder, Nova Systems; Dr Megan Clark AC, Co-Patron, Andy Thomas Foundation; Mrs Larissa Wiese, Deputy Director and Senior Operations Manager, International Space Centre, The University of Western Australia; Ms Jan Chorley, Chair, Australia Day Council of South Australia; Ms Nikki Govan AM, Board Member, National Australia Day Council (NADC); Ms Bernadette Foley , Group Executive - Professional Standards and Engineering Practice, Engineers Australia; Mr Darren Hall, Managing Partner, South Australia, Deloitte Australia; Ms Gemma Jones, Editor, The Advertiser; Ms Kirsty Mundy, Member, Premier's Council for Women; Professor Nicola Phillips, Vice Chancellor and President, Adelaide University; and Mrs Andrea Slattery, Deputy Chair, Woomera (Prohibited) Area Advisory Board.
Virtual attendees were Mr Enrico Palermo, Head, Australian Space Agency; Air Vice Marshall (Ret'd) Cath Roberts AO CSC, Board Member, Defence SA; and Colonel (Ret'd) Pamela Melroy, Former United States Air Force officer, NASA Astronaut, and Space Shuttle Commander.
Afterwards, at the Adelaide Contemporary Experimental Gallery, the Governor and Mr Bunten viewed the Country Arts SA ‘Kumarangk’ exhibition, part of the Adelaide Festival.
In the evening, at Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, addressed the guests at the opening night of the 2026 Alliance Française French Film Festival.
During the day, students from Cardijn College toured Government House.
