On Monday morning, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten departed Adealide for an official visit to the District Council of Mount Remarkable, the Flinders Ranges Council, and the Outback Communities Authority.

At Booleroo Centre, they visited Booleroo Centre District School where they met Mr Tas Ktenidis, Principal; Ms Tori Capurso, Wellbeing Leader; Mrs Kathy Kupke, Senior Leader; and Mrs Jaqui Jones, Governing Council Chairperson, and held a discussion with students, followed by a tour.

Afterwards, at Melrose, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Stephen McCarthy, Mayor, and Mr Martin Borgas, Acting Chief Executive Officer, District Council of Mount Remarkable, followed by a luncheon at the North Star Hotel. Guests were Mr McCarthy, Mr Borgas, Councillors Roger Schultz, Colin Nottle, and Sheriden Tate; Mr David Pluckhahn, Director Built and Natural Environment; and Ms Ros Dunn, Corporate Manager, District Council of Mount Remarkable.

In the afternoon, at the Bluff Lookout, Wirrabara, the Governor and Mr Bunten, accompanied by Mr McCarthy and Mr Borgas, toured the Bluff, and unveiled the new directional sign.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Julia’s Kitchen @ The Old Bakery Wirrabara, followed by an afternoon tea with elected members and senior council staff, before departing for Quorn.

In the evening, in Quorn, the Governor and Mr Bunten, having been met by Mr Ken Anderson, Mayor, and Mr Sean Holden, Chief Executive Officer, Flinders Ranges Council, attended a dinner hosted by Council, followed by a viewing of the Quorn Silo Light Show.

Her Excellency the Governor has appointed The Honourable Justice Mark Livesey to be Governor's Deputy from 8:15am on Monday, 13 October 2025 to 11:59pm on Monday, 13 October.
