On Monday morning, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten departed for an official visit to the Light Regional Council, Wakefield Regional Council, and Barunga West Councils, where, at Kapunda, they visited Kapunda High School for a conversation with the students, and morning tea attended by staff and students; Mr Michael Phillips-Ryder, Acting Mayor; Mr Richard Dodson, Chief Executive, Light Regional Council; elected members and council staff.

Later, at the Kapunda Town Square, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Ms Pepper Mickan, Community Services Manager, Light Regional Council, before viewing a performance of the Acknowledgement of Ngadjuri Country song by Kapunda Kindergarten students, and viewing collaborative artwork completed with a Ngadjuri artist; and, afterwards,

accompanied by Ms Maxine Donald and Mr Danny Menzel, Kapunda Mural Committee members, toured the Mural Walk.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten, met with Ms Karen Slape, Volunteer, Kapunda Community Gallery, toured the Gallery and was briefed on its history, initiatives, and events.

In the afternoon, at The Barns of Freeling, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended the ‘Building a Resilient Community’ luncheon, with speakers Mr Gavin Schuster, Freeling Farmer; and Mr Ashley Dent, Deputy Chairperson, Seppeltsfield Road Business Alliance. Guests included The Honourable Tony Piccolo MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Member for Light; Light Regional Council elected members and staff, business leaders, and community members.

Later, at the Greenock Town Square Memorial, the Governor and Mr Bunten met with Ms Anthea Blenkiron, President, Greenock Village Community Group, and toured the Anzac Park upgrades, and, afterwards, accompanied by Mr Claude Portelli, Sculptor, the Governor unveiled the Egeria sculpture, and was interviewed by local media about the visit to the Council, before departing for Balaklava.

Afterwards, at the Balaklava Civic Centre, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Rodney Reid, Mayor; and Mr Darren Starr, Chief Executive Officer, Wakefield Regional Council, followed by an afternoon tea with elected members, council staff, and community members.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Ms Nancy Harrington, President; and Ms Jo May, Curator, Balaklava Courthouse Gallery, and were escorted on a tour of the gallery; and visited the Balaklava Civic Centre before departing for Port Broughton.

In the evening, at the Port Broughton Hotel, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mrs Leonie Kerley, Mayor, Barunga West Council, and Mr Ned Kerley; and Mr Paul Simpson, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Barunga West Council, and Mrs Sarah Simpson.
