On Monday Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten continued their official Vice-Regal visit to the United Kingdom and Japan to promote South Australia.

In the morning in Toyko, the Governor and Mr Bunten met with His Excellency Mr Peter Roberts OAM, Australian Chargé d’Affaires to Japan; Ms Elizabeth Cox, Senior Trade Commissioner, Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms Stacey Nation, Minister/Counsellor (A/g), and other officials.

Later the Governor and Mr Bunten met with New Columbo Plan Students from South Australia and Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunten attended a Tasting SA lunch to promote South Australian produce in market.

Afterwards the Governor, met with, individually, Mr Takeo Akiba, Secretary General of Japan, National Security Secretariat; Mr Shunsuke Takei, State Minister for Foreign Affairs; Mr Takeo Mori, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs; and Mr Yosei Ide, State Minister for Education, Culture, Sports Science and Technology.

In the evening the Governor and Mr Bunten attended a dinner hosted by His Excellency Mr Peter Roberts OAM. Guests included Professor Masakazu Sugiyama, President, RE Global; Professor Tatsuoki Kono, University of Tokyo; and Mr Charles Adamson, Counsellor Industry, Science, Resources, Digital and Innovation.
