On Thursday Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten continued their official Vice-Regal visit to the United Kingdom and Japan to promote South Australia.
In the morning the Governor and Mr Bunten, met with, individually, The Right Honourable Tobias Elwood MP, Chair, House of Commons Defence Select Committee; Sir Nigel Sheinwald GCMG, Chair of Council, and Mr Ben Bland, Programme Director, Asia-Pacific Programme, Chatham House; and Mr Paul Blanchard, Chief Executive Officer, Ms Louise Mackie, Director of Operations, and Ms Frankie Carter-Kelly, Director of Sport and Performance, Commonwealth Games England.
In the afternoon at Buckingham Palace, the Governor and Mr Bunten were received by His Majesty King Charles III, and afterwards presented The King with the Marquette of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in the presence of The Honourable David Ridgway, Agent General for South Australia; Mr Bill Muirhead AM, former Agent General for South Australia, and Mr Peter Flavel, Chief Executive Officer, Coutts.
Later in the afternoon the Governor and Mr Bunten met with Mr Dominic Richards OAM, Board Trustee, The Prince’s Foundation, and Chair, Our Place.
In the evening the Governor and Mr Bunten met with Ms Samantha Cohen CVO, Envoy for Australasia and the Pacific.
In the morning at Government House, Adelaide, His Excellency The Honourable Chief Justice Christopher Kourakis, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
During the day, members of the Probus Club of Marion toured Government House.
