On Thursday morning, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Afterwards, in Hahndorf, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Beerenberg Farm , as part of a series of visits to iconic South Australian businesses.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor hosted a luncheon for the Governor of Shandong Province, The Honourable Mr Zhou Naixiang, and members of his delegation including, Mr Li Dong, Consul-General of China in Adelaide; Mr Xu Wen, Secretary-General, Shandong Provincial People's Government; and Madame Chen Baiwei, Director-General, Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee. On the Australian side, guests included The Honourable Blair Boyer MP, Minister for Education, Training and Skills, and Police; The Honourable Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Trade and Investment, Industry, Innovation and Science, Local Government, and Veterans’ Affairs; Mr Tim Whetstone MP, Shadow Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation representing the Shadow Minister for Education; Ms Michaela Bensley, Chief Executive, SACE Board; Mr Adam Kilvert, Acting Chief Executive, TAFE SA, Mr Sean Keenihan, Chair, StudyAdelaide; Ms Jane Johnston, Chief Executive, StudyAdelaide; Ms Lori Hocking, Pro Vice Chancellor - Global Partnerships, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Adelaide University; and Professor Romy Lawson, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, representing the President and Vice-Chancellor, Flinders University.
Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a reception to celebrate Children’s University student volunteers for their contributions to the program, schools, and communities.
In the evening, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor, who is patron of the Leaders Institute of South Australia, addressed the guests and presented certificates at the Governor’s Leadership Foundation 2025 Graduation.
Later, at Adelaide Oval, the Governor and Mr Bunten presented an award at the 2025 Sport SA Hall of Fame celebration. The Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons of Sport SA.
