On Wednesday morning, at Hallett Cove, as part of their program of school visits, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Hallett Cove School, where they spoke with staff and students.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten undertook a visit to the City of Holdfast Bay, where, at Glenelg, they met Ms Amanda Wilson, Mayor, Mr William Miller, Councillor, and Ms Cherie Armfield, Principal Project Manager, Jetty Road Transformation, City of Holdfast Bay, followed by a Jetty Road Walkthrough and Trader Tour.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten toured the Glenelg North Community Centre, and afterwards, visited the Williams Kibby VC Veterans Shed, followed by a tour of the Glenelg North Community Garden.

Afterwards, in North Brighton, the Governor and Mr Bunten, accompanied by City of Holdfast Bay executive staff and Friends of Minda volunteers, undertook the Minda Dunes Coastal Walk, including a viewing of the ‘Imprints of Time’ public artworks. The Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons of Minda.

In the afternoon, at Nest Kiosk, Kingston Park, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Uncle Jeffrey Newchurch and Uncle Frank Wanganeen, Kaurna-Narungga Elders, Aunty Lynette Crocker, Senior Kaurna Elder, and Aunty Merle Simpson, Kaurna Elder, who accompanied the Governor and Mr Bunten to Tulukutangga/Tjilbruke Spring.

At Tulukutangga/Tjilbruke Spring, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Ms Pamela Jackson, CEO, City of Holdfast Bay; Mr Allan Sumner, Ngarrindjeri, Kaurna and Yankunytjatjara man; and Mr Drew Kilner, Kaurna-Ngarrindjeri man, followed by a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and discussion, before returning to Government House.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor hosted a community delegation from Barrow-in-Furness and Plymouth, UK. The delegation included Mrs Michelle Scrogham MP for Barrow and Furness; Mr Fred Thomas MP for Plymouth Moor View; and Mrs Sunny Ahmed, Acting Consul-General, British Consulate-General in Melbourne.

Afterwards, the Governor hosted a reception to thank supporters and donors of the Neurosurgical Research Foundation.

In the evening, at The Odeon Theatre, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Judith Bunten, attended the opening night of ‘Faraway’, by the Australian Dance Theatre.
