On Sunday 6 February 2022, Australia will acknowledge the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s accession to the throne and the start of the Platinum Jubilee year by illuminating iconic buildings and monuments across Australia in purple. Government House will be among those buildings illuminated.

Her Excellency the Governor has appointed Dr James Muecke AM to be Governor’s Deputy from 6:00 am until 5:30 pm on Saturday 5 February 2022.
