On Wednesday morning, Her Excellency the Governor departed Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City, where, at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, and accompanied by Ms Sarah Hooper, Australian Consul-General; Ms Jane Johnston, Chief Executive, StudyAdelaide; and Mr Taliessin Reaburn, Department of State Development, she met Mr Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
Later, at the Caravelle Hotel, the Governor addressed the guests at a wine event hosted by the Australia-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce. Also present were Mr Taliessin Reaburn and Ms Natalya Twohill, Department of State Development.
Afterwards, at the Eastin Grand Hotel, the Governor, accompanied by Ms Michaela Bensley, Chief Executive, SACE Board, addressed the guests at the Scotch Australian Grammar School (AGS) Graduation Ceremony.
In the afternoon, at the Australian Consulate-General, the Governor attended a roundtable to discuss agribusiness with Vietnamese experts. Also present were Mr Taliessin Reaburn and Ms Natalya Twohill, Department of State Development.
In the evening, at the New World Saigon Hotel, the Governor, who is patron of StudyAdelaide, addressed the guests at an International Education Stakeholders Dinner, hosted by StudyAdelaide. The Governor was accompanied by Ms Johnston, Professor Lawson, Professor Gallagher, Commissioner Baker, Ms Narelle Slivak, Department for Education, and Mr Alex Williamson, TAFE SA.
Later, the Governor was hosted at dinner by the Consul-General and Mr Michael Wood.
On Wednesday afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency the Governor’s Deputy and Mrs Fiona Harris hosted a reception to honour and celebrate the volunteers of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network.
