On Wednesday morning, at Government House, Her Excellency received The Honourable Terry Stephens MLC, President of the Legislative Council.

Afterwards, at Thebarton, the Governor met Ms Joyce van der Sman, Coordinator, Adelaide Day Centre for Homeless Persons, and Ms Gina Manno, Garden Coordinator, Dame Roma Mitchell Gardens, where she met with clients and toured the gardens.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a luncheon for South Australia’s 2025 Australians of the Year. Guests were Ms Michelle Cox, Chair, Australia Day Council of South Australia; Ms Jan Chorley, Chief Executive Officer, Australia Day Council of South Australia; Professor Leah Bromfield, 2025 Australian of the Year for South Australia, and Chair of Child Protection and Director of the Australian Centre for Child Protection, UniSA; Ms Amber Brock-Fabel

2025 Young Australian of the Year for South Australia and Founding Director of SA Youth Forum; Mr Charles Jackson OAM, 2025 Senior Australian of the Year for South Australia and NDIA Coordinator at Aboriginal Family Support Services; and Mr Irfan Hashmi and Mrs Sobia Hashmi, 2025 Local Heroes for South Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor received Her Excellency Dame Sarah MacIntosh DCMG, British High Commissioner to Australia; and Mr Steph Lysaght, British Consul General to South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Later, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a reception for Debating SA, of which the Governor is patron, at which the Governor presented the 2025 Debating Awards.

During the day, clients from Carer and Community SA toured Government House. The Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons of Carer and Community SA.
