Governor's Rose Naming Competition
For the first time, South Australians will have the opportunity to contribute to the Governor's Rose Garden by proposing a name for the rose of Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.
A name that will bloom for generations.
Her Excellency and Mr Bunten are inviting South Australians to help name the newest addition to the Governor’s Rose Garden at Government House.
Created in partnership with the Rose Society of South Australia, the Governor's Rose Garden is a living tribute to the service and legacy of South Australia's 36 Governors.
The garden features a dedicated rose for each Governor, with each variety representing their time in office.
The rose that has been bred to represent Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC is a striking yellow Hybrid Tea rose, featuring glossy foliage, abundant blooms and a mild fragrance.
Throughout her distinguished diplomatic career and now as Governor, Her Excellency has fostered connection, understanding, respect and collaboration.
Entrants are invited to propose a name that reflects enduring these qualities while celebrating the spirit of South Australia.
The winning name will become a permanent feature of the Governor's Rose Garden.
